Madam Adwoa Animah, affectionately known as Odenku, lived a remarkable life that spanned an incredible 90 years. Her journey began in the picturesque town of Anwiankwanta East, which is now part of the vibrant Bekwai Municipal Assembly. Born on an auspicious day, June 5th, 1909, she would touch countless people’s lives with her enduring legacy. Odenku’s roots were firmly planted in her family tree. She was the daughter of Mr. Kwaku Sarfo and Amma Animah, a lineage that bestowed upon her a rich heritage and a strong sense of community. From a young age, it was evident that she possessed a unique and unwavering spirit. As she blossomed into adulthood, Odenku embraced her role as a mother with open arms, raising a family of ten children. Her love and care for her offspring knew no bounds, and this devotion extended to her 34 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Her family tree flourished under her nurturing presence, a testament to her boundless love and generosity.
